ICAR Connect
Mapping the field. Connecting the System.
ICAR Connect is a living map of Israel’s mental health, trauma-healing, and resilience ecosystem.
The platform helps users search organizations by population served, focus area, intervention type, and geography; find partners and related initiatives; and identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for coordinated action.
Organizations are invited to claim and manage their profiles, add current projects and initiatives, list partnership or funding needs, and signal interest in collaboration.
Together, we can ensure that the ecosystem map reflects the real and current state of the field.
Who we are
From Fragmented Response to Coordinated Impact
Established after October 7, ICAR Collective was created to help Israel respond to trauma and mental health needs at national scale.
ICAR serves as a neutral backbone organization, connecting NGO, government, healthcare, technology, research, philanthropy, and investment leaders to help transform a fragmented field into a nationally aligned trauma-recovery system.
We do not replace the organizations already doing vital work. We create the conditions for them to see the full landscape, align around shared priorities, and act together with greater clarity.
Through mapping, convening, insight-sharing, and initiative-building, ICAR helps safeguard the health, productivity, and security of Israel by strengthening the country’s capacity to heal now and prepare for the future.
ICAR’s Model for Collective Action
ICAR’s work is organized around three core functions:
Engage and Map
We listen to the field, gather data, and map organizations, services, populations served, needs, gaps, and opportunities across Israel’s trauma-healing and mental health landscape.
Convene and Share
We bring together leaders from across government, civil society, healthcare, academia, philanthropy, and innovation to align priorities, reduce duplication, share learning, and create practical pathways for collaboration.
Build
We help design, pilot, and scale initiatives that strengthen Israel’s trauma-healing capacity, from psychoeducation and prevention to workforce mapping, continuity of care, research, and innovation infrastructure.
Our Plan to Accelerate National Healing
Israel’s next phase of recovery requires a coordinated national strategy.
ICAR’s proposed framework focuses on two connected tracks: strengthening treatment and care for those who need support now, while building prevention and resilience for the future.
These tracks are supported by shared system enablers: governance and coordination, quality standards, workforce capacity, and data and evidence infrastructure.
Together, they form one national path toward a stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient mental health system in times of crisis and calm.
A National Challenge Requires a Collective Response
Trauma healing is part of Israel’s national infrastructure. Untreated trauma affects far more than individual wellbeing, shaping families, schools, workplaces, communities, public health, productivity, social cohesion, and national resilience.
Across Israel, hundreds of organizations are responding with urgency and dedication. But when efforts are fragmented, needs are harder to see, services are harder to navigate, and resources are harder to align.
ICAR helps make the field more visible, connected, and coordinated so Israel can move from emergency response toward long-term recovery and preparedness.
